Groningen | Holland

Last Friday I took a train to Groningen and stayed there over night with a friend of mine. The city was lovely and everything went smoothly. It took me about 2.5 hours to get to the centre of Groningen by train and the round trip from Amsterdam was about 55 euros. The B&B we booked was incredibly nice and we even had our own little garden. If you are planning to stay in Groningen and hope to find a peaceful place by the canal, I can highly recommend to stay at Cessinas. The price was pretty much the same as if we stayed at the hostel; we paid 25 euros per person for the private room for 2. Groningen is also a great city for shopping! We found a chain of shops where they sold everything for only 5 euros...of course it wasn't the greatest quality, but 5 euros!!! :D I bought 3 pairs of sandals, 2 clutch bags and some shirts. After having spent money on that store everything else seemed way too expensive...
