The other day I took my boyfriend for a swim in the Finnish Sea. He obviously was a bit upset that the temperature of the water wasn't as warm as it is in the Mediterranean, but I got him swimming anyway. The beach in Kallahdenniemi is part of the Kallahti Recreational Park, located on a peninsula surrounded by beautiful pine trees on a sandy beach. It is still one of my favorite swimming spots in Helsinki area and it is always nice to spend a day there. What makes it so special is the fact that the water is very low and it is possible to walk to the nearest islands and swim very far from the coast without being scared of drowning.
